| "Sara Terry, daughter of Scott (above) and Mary Kay Salchli, landed this beast today at 4:30. Scott called me I was fishing nearby and called me over when I seen the fish I knew it was a monster, after I girthed it I new it was the biggest ever taken in Kentucky. Sara wanted to release it even after the calculations showed it well past the state record. The fish had just used too much energy and wouldn't stay upright. Sara, after casting her purple and gold Cowgirl, told Scott that she saw something at boat side. Scott told her to stick the lure back in the water and figure-8 she did, and on the second figure-8 it ate it. She did a great job. Also, Scott is probably the best on Cave Run and again his expertise paid off. Hats-off to Sara and Scott....." |
The above story has been copied from the ever-popular and informative MuskyFIRST discussion board, as reported by Tony Grant on November 2, 2008.
According to the MuskieFIRST weight calculator based upon the size of the fish (53.5" length and 26.5" girth), this trophy would weigh in at 46.9 pounds! WOW |
