UNITING ALL MUSKIE FISHING INTERESTS FOR THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF A HIGH QUALITY MUSKELLUNGE SPORT FISHERY IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA.

Muskies, Inc. is an active, service-oriented, non-profit organization for men, women and children with the single focus of improving the sport of muskie fishing everywhere the fish are found. Founded in 1966 by Gil Hamm, the original group of thirteen avid muskie fisherman concentrated on continual improvement of the muskie resource through rearing and stocking efforts and sound conservation practices.

Muskies, Inc. has expanded to over 7,500 members and 47 independent local chapters throughout the country.  We have become a national voice of the protection of the muskie specie. The Daniel Boone Chapter #52 Charter was officially granted on May 7, 2004. Chapter membership currently stands at 89 members and is rapidly growing.

Today, departments of natural resources have realized the value of stocking muskies.  There are thirty-seven of the lower forty-eight states with active muskie stocking programs.

ATTENTION:

We urge all Chapter #52 members to process their membership renewals early. Here's an example of how it goes ...

Say you renew on June 1, your membership would be updated within a few days of that receipt on the system, the program downloads an extract at month end which gets forwarded to the magazine for print. This gets reviewed by the magazine in July and processed for print the end of July, after the magazine is printed then the NEW ID cards are printed, then they go to be laminated and then come back to be mailed out – that process can take 2 weeks or more, then they get mailed to the member. So… the earliest you would see a new card would be the first week of August (for your June renewal).

The online fish submission system is being set up to reject any entry that is over the 30 day reporting period. This will go into effect on July 1, 2009. The system would allow the chapter contest chairperson to enter them up to 60 days from date of catch. The reason for this is that by human nature members will panic and put them in the hands of the chapter contest chairperson right at the end of the 30 day reporting period. Consequently, in some of our larger chapters, the contest chairman may get 150 to 200 entries and only two days to enter them. So, individual members still must have them to their contest chairman within 30 days (or enter them their selves within 30) or the chapter contest chairman may have up to 60 days to enter them. You will then put your contest chairman at your mercy. If this gets to be a pattern and he does not like it, then please understand his response to you.

Daniel Boone Chapter #52 members put their time in on the water and are proud of their efforts ... especially when they catch. Mi#52 has formed a group on the web site at www.muskielink.com. The web site offers the ability to make a personal page and upload your catch photos. Take a look at here at the fruits of Chapter #52 member efforts ...
